NEW! Announcing Tower and Well Photography

New! Announcing my new photography and digital art site: Tower and Well. I once worked in journalism and often had to shoot my own photos on an old Pentax K-1000 (wow, does that date me). These days I am falling in love with photography once more through the lens of my Fuji S-5200. Check out Tower and Well for a free screensaver and wallpapers!

New Blog Skin: Painted Sky

Different approach, with a stretched image overlayed with text. Only one image, large, and the rest done in color.

The image is of the skyline at dusk overlooking Duck Hill from Canal Street Green Harbor, MA.

Watcha' Readin' ?

Ihave become so bloody sick of Romance I am ready to vomit. I love, and will always love, the genre. But lately-- whether from overload or genuine decline in the genre-- I find the majority of it is insipid, repetitive, and poorly crafted. The exceptions are a joy, but they seem (to me) to grow increasingly fewer.

Rather than throw in the towel I have decided that this month I will treat myself to three books that have me chomping at the bit. Two are by favorite fantasy authors, one by a brand new novelist who is getting raves:

This month is ALSO banned book month. Make sure to include at least ONE of the many great books shunned by morons on your list. These include such subversive tomes as the entire Harry Potter series, Huckleberry Finn, and The Color Purple. Be a rebel. Censorship s@&%cks!

Showing Off My New Camera

If you are in the market for a new camera, let me give a plug to the FujiFinePix S5200, which is dirt cheap and does the job of a camera four times its size and cost. I got mine for under $350.00, maxed it out with extras, and went shooting today in Plymouth. The images I'm blogging are reduced to a fraction of the originals, which are CRYSTAL clear. Check back soon for some blog skins made with images grabbed on my new Fuji! Surf over to Max's Blog to see some more of him.

Put Your Name in Lights!

Ever wonder how cool your name would look in lights? This month WebSong has a groovy new skin featuring... your name in lights! I got the idea when the Marshfield Fair was in town. Check out a live version at the WebSong Blog; the small snapshot here doesn't do it justice. Link to download is there, also.

New Blog Skin from WebSong

WebSong Designs has a brand new beach theme up for download. You can view the skin in action at HERE or download the text file to paste into blogger HERE. It features the admin login and "recent comments" features seen on my own blog, plus some cool hosted graphics. I did the blog body with a sanddollar and seashell accent, and seahorses on the menu. ENJOY!
