Silent, O Moyle

This time of year the swans who live here in Green Harbor and around the surrounding areas start showing off for passers by. The males become more noticeable and the females less so, as lady swans are more often squatting over nests and the men of the... err... bog are standing about looking nervous. It has always astonished me a little bit that those who live here are so tolerant of my frequent invasions into their privacy. Sometimes I think they are a modern incarnation of Lir's children.

Today, while the weather held, I took a few photos of this grand lad:

New-- Free Header Graphics!

Since Romance Divas was down today and Ahmed refused to sedate me (FACIST!), I finished a project that has been long overdue.

Visit Webong's New Header Page, which includes NOT ONLY headers, but a brief tutorial on how to use them.

Included: several ocean/beach themes, a few silhouettes, some sunsets, and a cheeky anime bad girl.

Beware the Ides of April

Well the Ides of April have come and gone, but the Ides of April Storm of 2007 blows on. It did little damage on Sunday and sputtered a bit on Monday, but today it conspired with the tides to flood Green Harbor and Brant Rock, MA. Naturally, being a local, I had to drive around in it to take pictures.

Cedar Point Light

Recently Tower and Well (my photography business) was contracted by a local business association to take some scenic photographs. They purchased several after reviewing the entire set. I am particularly fond of the photographs of the Cedar Point Lighthouse in Scituate. Minot Light, another local lighthouse, gets lots of press, but the quiet dignity and crisp white silhouette of Cedar Point Light somehow feels more a natural part of the landscape.Beginning next month Tower and Well will be offering matted, framed prints of local scenery. Current art prints are available upon request. I plan to create a blog skin and web template set soon using the light image.

Sharan Newman -- WOW!

If you haven't yet discovered Sharan Newman, you're missing out on a wonderful reading experience. Fans of romance will appreciate her rich medieval descriptives; mystery lovers will get lost in the turns and twists; and fantasy readers will recognize a similar depth of development in this surpsingly well crafted mystery series from Tor. The trilogty of books follows the life of Catherine LeVendeur, a twelfth century French woman with an amazing mind and a family secret. I loved every page of Heresy, which was recommended to me by my dear friend Maria. Once I finished the most recent installment I ran to my local book store to pick up the first two. Check her out!

Jill of the Jungle is BACK, baby!

Jill of the Jungle is BACK, baby!!! Ages ago, when I was brand new to computers, my Packard Bell would smoke and scream as I played this lame DOS game from the earliest days of video nerd-dom. I had all three versions, made it to the very end on all three, and LOVED them. Jill was among the first cool chicks (along with Ms Packman)... and her graphics were far superior. She's sort of one part Eve, two parts Xena. I was giddy to discover her still out there for download. Check Jill out:
